# Referrals

Your referral link invites other people to ZeroTick and ties their sign-up to your account. This guide shows where to find your link, how to share it, and how to give it a name you choose.

You need to be signed in. Your referral link appears in two places: the **Rewards** page and **Account & Security**.

#### Find and share your link

The fastest place to grab your link is the summary bar on the Rewards page.

**Open the Rewards page**

Open **Rewards** from the top navigation, then select the **Rewards** tab (the third of four tabs: Tasks & quests, Competition, Rewards, Leaderboard). The summary bar at the top shows your points, your Airdrop score, and two buttons: **Edit** and **Share referral**.

**Copy your link**

Select **Share referral**. Your link copies to the clipboard and the button reads **Link copied** for a moment. Paste it wherever you want to share it.

Your link is the ZeroTick app address with `?ref=` and your referral name added:

Your link works right away. Until you choose a name, it uses a default code from your account. Renaming it (below) replaces that code with a name you pick. Referral rewards accrue from the activity of people who sign up through your link; see the [Referral Program](https://zerotick-trade.gitbook.io/documentation.v1.1/rewards-and-programs/referral-program) page for how the program works.

You can also copy or rename your link from **Account & Security**. Open it from the profile menu, then use the pencil (**Edit referral link**) or copy (**Copy referral link**) button on the profile card.

#### Rename your referral link

Give your link a name that is easy to read and share. The name is the part after `?ref=`.

**Open the editor**

Select **Edit** (the pencil). The **Edit referral link** window opens with a live preview of your link, a name input, and a short helper line.

**Choose an available name**

Type your name into the box. It is lowercased automatically and the preview updates as you type. A name must be:

* between 3 and 30 characters
* letters, numbers, and hyphens only
* no hyphen at the start or the end

A moment after you stop typing, ZeroTick checks the name. You see **Checking...**, then either **Available** in green or **This referral name is already taken** in red.

**Save the name**

Select **Save**. The button reads **Saving...** while it updates, then the window closes. Share the updated link from now on.

Your referral link now uses the new name. It updates everywhere it appears, including the Rewards bar and Account & Security.

<summary>The Save button stays greyed out</summary>

Save turns on only when the name is valid, available, and different from your current one. Read the message under the box: the name may be too short, too long, use characters other than letters, numbers, and hyphens, or start or end with a hyphen. If the name has not changed, there is nothing to save.

<summary>You see "Unable to check availability"</summary>

The check could not reach ZeroTick, usually a brief connection issue. Wait a moment, then edit the name again to retry.

<summary>You have not chosen a name yet</summary>

Your referral link still works before you name it. It uses a default code from your account until you save a custom name. A name only makes the link easier to read and share.

<summary>The name you want is taken</summary>

Referral names are unique across ZeroTick, and some names are reserved. If your choice shows **This referral name is already taken**, try a variation, for example add a number or a second word.

Referral rewards accrue automatically from the activity of people you invite, with nothing you need to do to start them. Your balance is recorded now and becomes claimable when ZeroTick turns on reward payouts.
