# Privacy and consent

ZeroTick collects no usage data until you allow it. This guide covers the two privacy switches in the **Performance & Analytics** card and the one-time cookie choice you make when you first sign up.

You control both switches in the **Performance & Analytics** card in **Account & Security**, opened from the profile menu at the top right of the navbar. You make the cookie choice once, during sign-up. Both start with everything optional turned off, and nothing is tracked until you turn it on.

#### What the two categories cover

ZeroTick can collect two kinds of anonymous data, each behind its own switch. Both are off until you allow them, and neither identifies you: your wallet addresses are redacted before anything is sent.

#### Change your privacy switches

The two switches live in the **Performance & Analytics** card. The card has two sections, **Usage analytics** and **Performance**, each with its own switch.

Open the profile menu at the top right of the navbar and press **Account & Security**.

**Set anonymous usage analytics**

Under **Usage analytics**, use the **Allow anonymous usage analytics** switch. Its note reads "Anonymous, address-redacted product analytics that help us improve ZeroTick. Off by default."

**Set anonymous diagnostics**

Under **Performance**, use the **Allow anonymous diagnostics** switch. Its note reads "Anonymous diagnostics that help us keep the app fast and reliable. Off by default; you can withdraw anytime."

There is no save button on this card. Each switch takes effect the moment you flip it, and turns indigo when it is on. Turning **Allow anonymous diagnostics** off stops diagnostics right away.

<summary>I turned a switch off. Did I lose anything?</summary>

No. Declining or withdrawing consent does not change any feature, limit, or price. It only stops the anonymous data from being collected. As the **Usage analytics** note puts it, this is off by default, and it stays exactly as useful whether it is on or off.

<summary>What does "anonymous" mean here?</summary>

Your wallet addresses are redacted before anything leaves your device, and the data is about which pages and features are used, not who you are. Neither switch sends the contents of your wallet or your trades.

#### Make your cookie choice at sign-up

When you first sign up, ZeroTick shows a one-time cookie choice titled **ZeroTick Cookies**, right after you accept the terms and before you save your recovery kit. Its intro reads "We use cookies to improve the app and your experience on it. Nothing is tracked until you allow it."

**Review the cookie categories**

**Strictly necessary** is always on and cannot be switched off. **Analytics** and **Performance** start off.

**Turn on any optional categories you want**

Use the **Analytics** and **Performance** switches to turn on only what you are comfortable with. Leave both off to share nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies.

**Save your choice**

Press one of the two buttons. **Accept all** turns both optional categories on. The lower button saves exactly what the switches show: it reads **Accept only necessary** while both are off, and changes to **Save preferences** as soon as you turn either one on.

Your cookie choice and the two **Performance & Analytics** switches are the same setting. Whatever you pick at sign-up, you can change it later in **Account & Security**, and a change there updates your cookie choice too.

<summary>Do I have to choose cookies to continue signing up?</summary>

Yes. The cookie step is part of onboarding and cannot be skipped or dismissed. Pick one of the options to continue. Both optional categories stay off unless you turn them on, so **Accept only necessary** lets you move on without sharing anything optional.

<summary>How do I have my data erased, not just switched off?</summary>

Turning the switches off stops any future collection. To erase the personal data ZeroTick already holds, close your account or email <privacy@zerotick.trade>.
