# Cross-Chain Swaps

A cross-chain swap moves value from an asset on one chain to an asset on another, without leaving your wallet. ZeroTick handles the conversion and delivers the destination asset to your wallet on the other chain, so you never need a separate tool or an outside site.

### How a cross-chain swap works

Swaps live inside the **Send** flow, the same flow you use for any transfer. You choose what you send from one chain, choose what you receive on another, and confirm. When the source chain and the destination chain are different, the transfer becomes a cross-chain swap: ZeroTick converts your asset and delivers the result to your wallet on the destination chain. When both chains are the same, it stays a plain transfer with no conversion.

A cross-chain swap takes longer than a same-chain send. Delivery usually takes a few minutes, depending on the two chains and current network conditions. The quote shows an estimated time so you know what to expect.

### The quote

Before you confirm, ZeroTick shows a **Quote Details** panel that breaks the swap down line by line. Read it before you accept.

| Row                    | What it shows                                                                                                       |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **You Send**           | The amount and asset leaving your wallet on the source chain.                                                       |
| **You Receive (est.)** | The estimated amount arriving on the destination chain, after costs. It stays an estimate until the swap completes. |
| **Exchange Rate**      | The current rate between the two assets.                                                                            |
| **Cross-chain Fee**    | The cost of the swap, shown in your source asset.                                                                   |
| **Estimated Time**     | Roughly how long delivery should take.                                                                              |
| **Provider**           | Always shown as "Cross-chain". ZeroTick performs the conversion for you and does not surface the service behind it. |

The quote does not refresh on its own. It stays valid for a short window, and once it expires it clears so nothing runs on stale numbers. A refresh button at the top of the panel pulls current figures whenever you want them.

A quote is a snapshot, and prices move. The panel reminds you: "Quote expires in 60 seconds. Refresh if needed." If your quote expires, refresh to get a new one at the current rate before you confirm.

### Supported swaps

You can swap between any two chains ZeroTick supports. The moment the from-chain and the to-chain differ, the transfer is a cross-chain swap. You can swap one chain's native asset for another chain's native asset, or between supported token pairs. ### Common questions

<summary>What happens if my quote expires before I confirm?</summary>

The quote panel clears and the app shows "Quote expired. Please refresh." Press the refresh button to fetch a fresh quote at the current rate. You are never charged on an expired quote; the swap simply waits until you accept a current one.

A cross-chain swap settles across two separate networks, which takes longer than moving funds on a single chain. The app keeps you updated with plain-language progress while the swap completes, and the quote's estimated time is your reference.

<summary>Can I swap between two assets on the same chain?</summary>

Not through this flow. When the source and destination chains match, the Send flow performs a plain transfer, not a conversion. A cross-chain swap needs two different chains.
